Our tea towels are designed and hand printed in the Smitten Studio and are manufactured locally. We take pride in each step of the process and know our sewers personally.

This design was inspired by urban textures and Katie’s walks in the Waitakeres in West Auckland, her local stomping ground and continuous source of inspiration.  

“As I started to draw the repeating stripes with pencil, I decided I needed to mask the sides to create clean edges within various narrow rectangles, this also allowed me to be quite free and rhythmic with my mark making, but giving it structure too. I loved how this all started to repeat as a final design. It almost looks 3 dimensional.” Katie Smith 2020.
